We had it all figured out me and this friend of mine
A little fishing trip with something fishy in mind
There’s a rockin’ little juke joint down the road
We’ll have a little fun no one would know
So with the bass boat hitched up tight
We kissed Wanda and Bobbi Jean goodbye

We were feeling real cool pulling in the parking lot
Laughing how we’d hid our clothes in the tackle box
Struttin’ like tom cats out on the prowl
Gonna get rowdy gonna get loud
But we nearly hit the floor
From the shock we got when we walked through the door

Wanda was drinking from a cowboy boot
Bobbi Jean showing where she hid her tattoo
They’d poured water down the front of their chest
Ready for the wet t-shirt contest
Well now boys I guess that it just goes to prove
That sometimes girls like to go fishing too

Well we walked right up and said what are you doing here
With a smile and a wink they said we’re fishing dear
Well it must have been funny cause we all laughed
About catching a long legged blue eyed bass
When they moved across the floor
We knew these ole girls had done some fishing before

Wanda was dancing on top of the bar
Bobbie Jean puffing on a big cigar
Should a heard them singing with the boys in the band
Found their shirts hanging on a ceiling fan
Well now boys I guess that it just goes to prove
That sometimes girls like to go fishing too
