When I was a girl, I’d play out in the rain as it fell down
I just had to be out in it, wondering what made the world go round
My mum would yell come on in before you catch a cold
I thought that I knew better, never did what I was told
It’s sometimes up, its sometimes down
I’m doing what I can to keep both feet on the ground
Never knowing what’s in front of me
Life is a mystery
Once I graduated, I left home to join the big wide world
Got myself a job but I’ll always be my daddy’s little girl
Now the bills are piling up and I’ve maxed out my credit card
Tomorrow is a new day, no, it won’t always be this hard
It’s sometimes up, it’s sometimes down
I’m doing what I can to keep both feet on the ground
It’s sometimes up, it’s sometimes down
I’m doing what I can to keep both feet on the ground
Never knowing what’s in front of me
Life is a mystery
